When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number. Landlords additionally provide property details and photos. Students additionally provide application details — desired move-in date, number of occupants, an optional message, and optional co-signer name and email. We also keep standard technical logs (IP address, browser type) for security.
We use your information to operate the marketplace: showing listings, delivering applications from students to landlords, sending transactional email (application received, application accepted or declined), and maintaining account security. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
When a student applies to a listing, the landlord of that listing sees the student's name, email, phone number, and application details — that's the point of the service. Landlord names are shown on their listings. Co-signer details are visible only to the landlord of the listing applied to. We do not share your data with anyone else except service providers needed to run the Platform (such as email delivery and, in the future, payment processing via Stripe) or where required by law.
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We keep account data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting the Platform administrator; we will remove it except where we must retain records for legal or accounting purposes.
Passwords are stored hashed, all traffic is encrypted over HTTPS, and access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure — use a unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
If we make material changes to this policy we will note the new date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after a change constitutes acceptance.
